When I met David at his London house he invited me in for coffee and a cigarette (he only started smoking in his 70's) we chatted for a good hour before we even discussed the reason I was there, It's not often I get the luxury to sit with my subject before a shoot. He was very warm and welcoming with an inquisitive mind.
